The Mohammed al-Dura affair was a huge propaganda victory for the Palestinians during the Second Intifada. Al-Dura became a martyr and a symbol for the struggle of the "David" Palestinians against the "Goliath" Israelis. Many unanswered questions surrounded the shooting incident at Netzarim junction in the Gaza strip. The IDF was quick to apologize for the shooting incident even before all the facts were checked.
Thanks to the dedicated, and thankless, work of Phillipe Karsenty the truth of the Muhammed al-Dura affair has been exposed. A tremendous amount of evidence has been uncovered that shows that the whole news item was skillfully orchestrated to look like a child was killed, yet it was total fiction.
To this day official Israel has still done nothing with this information to clear its name as well as the image of the IDF from this affair. A golden opportunity to challenge the credibility of this fabricated episode is being missed.
The Jewish people owe a big thank you to Phillipe Karsenty for his tremendous efforts for personally taking on the propoganda machine that does so much damage to Israel around the world.
Too bad Israel isn't doing that work instead of him.
